Setting up your plan’s billing profile
You won't have to do this if all you want to do is use the free basic notary e-journal and nothing else.
However, you will need to set up your billing profile if you want to upgrade to one of the subscription tiers (Pro, Premium or Platinum) or if you want to use our e-notarization tools on a "pay as you go" basis.
Please note that notary validation can take up to 48 hours and is required to use our e-notarization features. So please make sure to set up your billing profile at least two days before you need to use any of our paid features.
You can access your Billing profile page from the upper right corner of your Astrean app screen.
The Billing page consists of the following sections:
- Monthly or annual option. You have the option of paying month-to-month or enjoy the convenience & value of annual payments.
- Astrean user plans. The Billing page provides a summary of our four basic plans.
- Billing profile setup. When you select the "Get Started" button for any of the plan options, this billing profile popup window opens.
IMPORTANT note: Only one billing profile is required per organization account. The credits purchased for that account are available to and shared by all the notaries using that organization's account.
Monthly or annual option
Many app users prefer the convenience and lower cost of the annual contract. Plus it locks in the cost for the paid tiers for at least a year.

Astrean user plans
You can find more detailed information about our plan options on our website's Pricing page. The app Billing page provides a quick summary.
Note: one additional benefit of upgrading to one of the monthly (or annual) subscription plans is that your notary validation fees are included and you get a discount on the credits you need to conduct e-notarizations.
Billing profile setup
To setup your billing profile, just select your current plan and click on the "Get Started" button. In the popup window that appears, you will need to provide the following information:
- Choice of monthly or annual payments (keep monthly for "free for life" Personal plan)
- Credit card number
- Credit card expiration date
- Credit card CVC number
Once you have completed those entries, just click "Checkout" to review and complete your transaction.
The example below is for the "free for life" Personal plan. As you can see, even though a credit card is required, there are no charges made to the card until credits are purchased for notary validation or access to e-notarization tools.
This next example below shows the Billing profile popup window for the Pro plan on an annual subscription.
After completing your billing profile, you should immediately proceed to the Notary Validation screen to complete your account setup and ensure you're able to use our electronic notarization tools and other digital notary toolbox features.
