Validating your notary commission
For subscribers to Astrean's Pro, Premium and Platinum tiers, notary validation is complimentary up to the indicated number of notaries included in the selected plan.
For notaries in the "free for life" Personal Plan, there is a charge for notary validation. You will need to set up your Billing profile before requesting notary validation.
Notary validation entails the following review and confirmation steps:
- Verifying the notary's identity
- Verifying the notary's commission or license
Start the validation process
To begin your notary validation process, just go to to Notary Validation page.
Once there, you will first need to upload a copy of your notary license, commission or certificate.
From there, click the Verify/Apply button to beging the process and the verification pop-up window will appear. The verification pop-up form will ask questions needed to verify your identity and commission.
Verifying the notary's identity
Astrean uses a third-party service to check your state-issued identification against a continuously updated database of state ID documents from more than 100 countries. Identity verification will require the following items:
- Date of birth
- Upload of a current selfie photo
- Upload of a state-issued photo ID (such as a driver's license, passport or state identity document
Verifying the notary's commission or license
The second part of that same popup form asks for information about your current notary license:
- Email used for notary commission
- First and last names
- Notary commission or license number
- Date of notary commission or license
- State issuing notary commission or license
